Who is Masterplan Mortgage?
Masterplan Mortgage is a branded name in place of Innovative Mortgage Services, Corp. Innovative Mortgage Services is a large multi-state brokerage shop with 300+ licensed loan officers representing 70+ wholesale lenders.
Licensed Loan Officers work much like Licensed Real Estate Agents. Often we like to have our own brand for marketing & business purposes.

What is a Mortgage Broker?
A mortgage brokerage shop is licensed with the state and US Government to broker loans for wholesale lenders.
Not all brokerage shops are the same. Some mortgage brokers consist of 1 person and some are made up of hundreds of loan officers. Larger shops can have dozens of wholesale & portfolio lenders in the line up.

Why work with a Broker?
Mortgage lenders & Banks have advertising budgets, customer service representatives, internal Underwriters and Loan Processors which adds up to large overhead. These margins are passed along to you.
Mortgage Lenders & Banks have limited loan product offerings and more stringent guidelines, making certain lending cases difficult if not impossible to fund.
What are the costs
Will I get a better deal?
Mortgage brokers typically can offer lower interest rates. This is especially true of the larger brokerage shops. Larger brokerage shops produce more loans which in turn is incentivized by the wholesale lenders and therefore a deeper discount can be passed along to the borrower.
If you are working with a broker because of credit challenges or unique property issues, the answer from the borrower perspective could be construed as a no. These type of loans carry more risk and are typically more expensive than the standard Conventional 30 yr Fixed loan products. Mortgage Lenders & Banks do not typically offer these products in their lineup.

In 1995, I graduated with honors from Michigan Technological University with a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. I started a career in Automotive as a project engineer, made my way to leading teams of engineers as an engineering program manager and eventually worked my way to plant operations. I have successfully championed projects from $1M - $100M. Failure was never an option.
My moto is "Action Planning to a Yes".
There is a special pride when seeing a product you helped develop drive down the road, but honestly the connection/feeling you get helping "people" through a major life event is by far more powerful. THIS is my why.
I became a licensed loan officer because I love helping people, action planning and driving projects to successful completion.
Every client has their own unique financial fingerprint: job gain/loss, marriage/divorce, good credit/bad credit, W-2 employee/business owner, large savings/no savings etc. Such is life! A good loan officer will spend the time getting to know you, understand where you have been in the past, what you dream for your future and give you guidance as to what your next steps should be. Our goal is to get you into property ownership big or small, have a relatively positive experience navigating through the loan processes and develop a long-lasting relationship as a financial confidante.
I mostly work ALL of the time. When I'm not working, I tend to do more spontaneous activities such as going out to dinner, boating, golf, live music. I do enjoy volunteering for the food banks and am currently helping to care for my elderly parents.
